How long will it take for me to notice changes in my body?

Every body is different. Dedication to a consistent practice will determine how quickly you notice changes in your body.

Will I be able to perform pilates and Egoscue exercises with existing injuries?

Pilates and Egoscue excises are low impact and focused on decompression; aligning and supporting the body’s joints rather than deteriorating them. However, if you have had a serious injury or recent operation, consulting with your doctor before hand is strongly recommended.

Will this program flatten and tone my midsection?

Yes, strengthening and lengthening core musculature will absolutely result in a flatter, firmer belly.

Will I lose weight?

Practicing pilates and Egoscue e-cises will help you burn calories, however, it is not considered aerobic until you have mastered the advanced work. It is highly recommended that along with your pilates and Egoscue practice you incorporate an aerobic activity along with a nutritious diet if you are trying to lose weight.

Will I gain flexibility?

Absolutely! Improving flexibility is one of the principle benefits of a consistent pilates and Egoscue practice.

May I continue to do weights and my other exercise routines?

Yes, the principles of pilates and Egoscue will enhance any fitness program or sport you may currently be doing.

Will pilates or Egoscue help me recover from a sports injury?

Pilates and the Egoscue Method can help in the recovery process as well as help prevent future injuries by correcting one's posture, muscular imbalances and movement patterns. The speed and degree of healing will depend entirely on the extent and severity of the injury.

How does the studio design a program specific to my needs?

Before your first session, you will complete an intake form to let us know about your specific body issues and goals. We will then work with you to form a conditioning program based on your physical needs and goals.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, form-fitting clothing is recommended. This allows us to see your body and help you make any specific corrections. Socks are required.

How many times should I practice pilates and/or Egoscue?

You should aim to practice every day for optimal benefits. This can be in the form of your own personal practice, private, semiprivate, and group sessions.
